Titirilandia: Madrid Puppet Festival

The Puppet Festival starts on the 10th of July and ends on the 29th of August, in the Retiro park. Is is an annual event which gathers more than 40.000 participants. This is a good opportunity for kids of all ages to enjoy the puppet shows and have fun. The entrance is free and the Retiro park is in the center of Madrid, so you can’t miss it.

Madrid International Fashion Week

Every year fashion designers from all over the world come to Madrid for the International Fashion Week. In 2010 you can see this show between the 2nd and 4th of September in the Juan Carlos park. The event represents all areas of industry: sportswear, underwear, everyday wear and many other categories.

Fescinal

Between June 24 and September 4 you can watch a movie a Fescinal’s open-air cinema. You will enjoy a warm summer evening and a walk in the Parques de la Bombilla. The fee is 5 euros and for the kinds under 4 years old it is fee.

White Night in Madrid

On 11 September 2010, between sundown and sunrise you can enjoy live music, street theatre and many other street activities. The museums are open and most of them have special exhibitions. This kind of event can be seen in many other European capitals, but every year it is a unique experience.

Spanish National Day

Every year the Spanish people celebrate the National Day on September 12. In Madrid the celebration takes place in the Plaza de Colon where you can see an impressive military parade and low-flying planes painting the sky with the national colors.

Optica Festival

Optica Festival is an annual event that gathers independent artists and galleries between the 23rd and 26th of October. This is a good opportunity to improve your knowledge about art and have fun at the same time.

Fiesta de la Almudena

The Spanish people keep their traditions and celebrate the patrons in each city. Madrid’s patron saint is Virgen de la Almudena. On 9th of November Madrid is full of flowers and people celebrating.
