Three experiences not to miss on your city-break in Barcelona
We have been recently asked from one guest who booked a Barcelona apartment via our website what they should not miss during their city-break in Barcelona and thought of sharing the advice we gave.
Eating traditional food with a contemporary touch
You should try the Cerveceria Catalana, just off the Rambla de Catalunya in the Eixample (C/ Mallorca, 236, 08013 Barcelona, Tel.93 216 03 68) for really good tapas in a nice environment; this tapas restaurant is famous and you can find it on many guides. We think it is not the usual tourist trap and that it is has really fresh and tasty food. You should reserve a table if you wish to eat at the restaurant there or go early, at 7.00 pm, to get the fresh tapas and find some space at the bar (the real tapas experience). The service is in the typical tapas bar style, which means it is not too refined but welcoming. It is worth trying it.
Chic and exotic night
If you like spicy food we recommend the Thai Gardens. This is an elegant restaurant in the Eixample. They have normal tables and also an area with low Thai tables where you sit on cushions but in a comfortable space (you will see if you go, we don’t want to spoil the surprise). If you go there ask for a table in this area.
Something you should not miss in Barcelona?
Well, we think a different, informal but unique way to watch the sun go down is from the Orsom Catamaran, that will take you around the Barcelona harbour during one hour or so. You can relax, listen to some live jazz (yes, there is a saxophone player who performs just for you) socialize and see the city from the sea, which gives you a different and unique point of view of Barcelona.
