Arts and Dance in Barcelona
Housed in a stylish building from the 1929 Barcelona Exhibition and in its present form since 1983, the Mercat de les Flors is an unmissable cultural centre offering contemporary arts, dance, music and theatre. It is located on Montjuic, a short stroll away from several other fantastic theatres and museums such as the Grec, MNAC and Teatre Lliure.
The best way to get to the Mercat is the Metro to Plaza d'Espanya, L1, (red-line). Then head up through the exhibition area towards the MNAC palace (you won't miss it) through the two towers. Before climbing the stairs up to the MNAC take the road that leads right (left for the Caixa Forum) until the end and turn right up the hill. The Mercat is a little further up on the left hand side in a little square, along with the Teatre Lliure.
If you are feeling hungry at this point (maybe you've been around the MNAC and seen the Magic Fountain) there is a great little Italian restaurant nearby called Golfo di Napoli which does great pizza (Try the "Tina Pica").
