Bouzu Japanese Restaurant

Great Japanese food in Barcelona
Visiting Barcelona represents a unique experience and we are sure that this phrase doesn't emphasises all the feelings we have when stating this. What is most surprising about Barcelona is its diversity, its combined influences, its variety of shapes, colours and people. Barcelona has a place for everyone. This city could be easily compared to an international mother of all nations.
When exploring this wonderful city looking for inspiration to write these guides, we came across with what we consider a good example to prove Barcelona's mix of cultures - the Bouzu Japanese restaurant. For those of you who went to Japan and now want to live the same culinary experience in Europe, we strongly recommend this place. Situated in a small, cozy location near San Antoni market, Bouzu is one of the places that best represents the Japanese culture and food in Barcelona.
The restaurant was named after a popular card game in Japan called Hanafuda, which translates into "flower cards". The game has 12 suits of cards representing the 12 months of the year. Each suit is designed as a flower and has 4 cards which compose it. Each suit usually has 2 cards worth one point, one card worth five points and a special card that is worth twelve points. Though, not the number of gathered points decides the winner of the game, rather a certain combination of cards. The card representing Bouzu's logo can be found in the August suit and it portrays a full moon that is worth twenty points, and so is the experience provided by the restaurant.
If you want to practice your Japanese language skills you can easily do so with the restaurant's friendly staff, composed by both Spanish and Japanese speakers. You are going to be welcomed at the entrance and guided to your table by a lovely Japanese girl, whose smile brightens the whole place.
As soon as you are comfortably accommodated, you will see that the restaurant’s menu provides with plenty of dishes to choose from. From Japanese tapas to sushi you are going to find it all here. We strongly recommend the Tempura Moriawase and the Katsu Don dish. They are delicious. Make sure you leave room for dessert because the Macha Ice is to die for.
Whether you want to experience Japan's atmosphere or simply wish to try something different in Barcelona, we recommend that you make time to enjoy this delightful restaurant. You can find the restaurant at 26, Ronda Sant Antoni Street and visit it from Tuesday to Sunday either lunch or dinner. Its opening hours are from 1pm to 4pm and from 8.30pm to 12pm. Saturday and Sunday the restaurant opens one hour earlier, from 7.30pm to 12midnight. No need for reservations, but just in case you want to give them a call before you turn up, you can contact them on 0034 93 443 32 26.
