Rome is a great city and deserves more than a short break to absorb its beauty; however this three-day stay guide, may give you some ideas on how to enjoy a special weekend in the Italian capital.

This guide can help you if you wish to visit some typical Roman sites but not only the most famous. This is what we did when visiting Rome for the third time.

Art Dialogues Barcelona

We have decided to focus on the more obscure exhibition scene in this post: The Suñol Foundation, which is showing an small collection entitled 'Dialogues' with art items ranging from re-known artists such as Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró.  The exhibition aims to highlight concept shifts that occurred during the 20th century using a series of combined works from these artists and more.  The Suñol Foundation is a private, non-profit organisation with a collection of contemporary and avant-garde pieces.  Exhibit runs until 3rd October 2009.

Areas to visit in Istanbul

2010 seems is the perfect year to visit Istanbul, especially because the city was nominated as the European Capital of Culture for the current year. Charged with an incredible amount of history and tradition, Istanbul is known for its multicultural roots divided between  Asia and European.  If you are hoping for a different type of experience, Istanbul will definitely not let you down, so indulge into the Turkish hospitality and Oriental influences.

Amsterdam has evolved from a small city to the cultural capital of Holland. Amsterdam Rijksmuseum

Currently under the name "The Masterpieces", the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is exhibiting great works of art from the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th Century.  Although currently under renovation, many of the great works can still be seen, including Rembrandts famous "The Night Watch".  Other Dutch masters represented are Jan Vermeer and Frans Hals.   There is also a fine collection of Doll's houses, Delft porcelein and gilt-work.  Due to renovation the exhibition is relatively small and you should be able to get through it in under four hours.  The museum is open daily from 10.00 until 18.00.

Salsa Barcelona

Even though Catalonia claims not to be Spain, that doesn't mean we don't want (or expect) to be able to enjoy Salsa around the calid coastline - which is the perfect place to enjoy it.  In fact, there are some great places for salsa lovers (salseros) in Barcelona, and there are several small groups dedicated to roaming these clubs on a regular basis (See meetup.com).  So, we'd just like to give you a run-down of the salsotecas you can expect to find yourself in once you have arrived in BCN.  Azucarrr!
